Open Opportunities to Serve in the Ministry System

General Questions About Volunteers Needed

There is work to do! This page lists various open opportunities, but if you have a skill or an idea, please don't be shy about voicing your proposal. You can check with an elder, or contact someone in the Involvement ministry. Either Paul Wasilko (leader for the ministry system--see Involvement) or Anthony Wooten (leader for the Newcomer Involvement program) would be happy to help you find "your place" in the Lord's work at Highland View.

Library Program

See the Education Ministry. The library exists, but needs tender loving care both in the leader role and support staff role. Basic love of books and organizational or administrative skills are all that would be required. Contact the Education Ministry leader to discuss.

Puppet Program

See the Education Ministry. Highland View has a wonderful stock of puppets, props, staging, training materials, lighting, and sound equipment. The ministry leader is Kevin Reaves, and he needs support staff for both behind-the-scenes work and puppeteers. See Kevin to learn more.

Men's Program

See the Fellowship Ministry. Erb Mowery is willing to play a support role, but we are in need of a leader for this program. Current activities include the Men's prayer breakfast and some special activities. See David Morgan or Mark Pratt, Ministry Leaders for this area, if you are willing to step into this role.

50+ Program

Part of the Fellowship Ministry, the 50+ program has wonderful leadership of Tom and Mildren Goodpasture. However, they have no formal support staff on call to assist them in planning and carrying out the service projects and fun activities this great group loves to do. Check with the Goodpastures to sign on!

Habitat for Humanity

Part of the Helping Hands Ministry, the Habitat for Humanity program is led by David Morgan. While anyone can volunteer to work on this great program to provide meals or to actually work on the construction of homes, David could use one or two folks as support staff to help with announcements, coordination of schedules, and other tasks. Volunteer to help David today!
