About the Website

Using the Website

  • Working Out the Bugs: This website debuted in late 2010, and will continue to be a work in progress. Good websites continually evolve and provide fresh information, especially on the top level pages. You can really help by sending your comments, questions, ideas, and problems to the webmaster using the contact us form. The only bug currently known is in the online directory with some browsers (IE8). When you enter the password, you might receive 3 short error messages---just click okay for all 3 and the directory should work fine. We are still trying to resolve the problem.

  • Newsstand: the daily Newsline is located just below the side menu QuickLinks. It is in the box labeled Newsstand, and contains Newsline, the current bulletin, Sunday Order of Assembly, Open Hearts newsletter, small group bookmark, and most recent recordings (Sunday auditorium class, sermon, and Wednesday's auditorium class).

  • New Features: The ministry system is online and available through the main menu at the top of every page. More information is available about current classes, small group meetings, and a stronger emphasis on helping visitors find needed information. The archives are organized as (1) Publications, (2) Recorded Sermons and Lectures, and (3) Music (songs sung by the congregation and recorded live).

  • Search and Contact Forms: the new site uses Google search engine confined to the Highland View Website. We've also provided a number of ways for you to find what you are looking for. The main menu is at the top of every page. A second menu of QuickLinks is on the left side of many (but not all) pages, and is more oriented toward visitors. We think members will also enjoy using it as a fast way to find information. There is a sitemap with links, and an automated contact form listing all the ways you can reach the office and people serving in various roles. The contact page has a form to submit questions, comments, ideas, volunteering, or to share concerns.

  • Accessiblility: the new site was designed to support people with vision impairments. You should be able to adjust the font size to a comfortable viewing size without distorting the layout--just use the tools on your browser of choice. The site also works with digital readers for those with limited vision.
