Description
This is a snapshot of the audience just before services on a recent Sunday. The picture was taken via the webcast on ustream.tv! If you have access to the internet and cannot be with us for assembly, please join us online. See instructions below or print out the PDF version.
The PDF version also includes information for other churches to explore setting up their own webcast.
Instructions For Live Viewing - OPTION 1: Anonymous (Guest) Viewing
To view the live stream, you have two options.
Option 1 is to watch as a ustream.tv guest, with no ustream account required.
You can view the webcast anonymously by clicking THIS USTREAM LINK. It will open a page in your default web browser (like Firefox or Windows Internet Explorer). Don't log in or set up an account, but simply type hvchurch into the search box (see picture below). NOTE: searching for Highland View church of Christ may not find us. Our show name is hvchurch.

When you click on the search button, you will jump to the Highland View program page, pictured below. Notice the word "BROADCASTS" on a blue tab. The picture shown in that tab will tell you if we are Off-Air (as shown in this picture) or Live. If we are live, double click on that picture to go to the show page and watch the worship service. The next tab over, called "VIDEOS" takes you to a list of all the archived videos from past assemblies (since early 2009). The final tab is labeled "UPCOMING" and shows a page listing the next scheduled events and assemblies.
Watching the live broadcast anonymously (as a Guest) will show you the live assembly and let you read the comments being entered in the chat room by other ustream viewers. However, you cannot participate in chat as an anonymous guest. To do that, you need an account, described below in Option 2. You can also choose to open the video box to full screen which will block out the chat room and allow to you see a bigger view of the webcast.
Instructions For Live Viewing - OPTION 2: Get a Free Account and Login
There is an advantage to getting a free account. Having a ustream.tv account allows you to subscribe to Highland View's program, an action which is known in ustream terminology as "Join Crowd." Once you've joined the hvchurch crowd, you can log in and chat in the chat-room, get notifications of upcoming events, and this program will show up in your ustream "crowds I'm in" list. This is similar to marking favorites or subscribing to You Tube channels or a podcast site. Here are the instructions to create an account. (Or click here to download/print the PDF instructions).
- Go to the ustream home page at www.ustream.tv or simply click THIS LINK.
- Click on the "Sign Up" link in the upper right hand portion of the ustream site (see picture shown below).

- Fill out the new account portion of the ustream form pictured below and press submit.

- Make a note of the username and password you created so you can return in the future.
- You can skip the portions of the sign-up that ask you to connect to your email, to other social networks, and to name your show. (You can change these later if you want to link to your Facebook or Twitter accounts, or to broadcast your own live program.)
- Now that you have an account, you'll be able to log in on future visits. Use the search box to search for hvchurch. Double-click the picture or link to go to our show page.
- Also as a registered user, you can click on JOIN CROWD to add the Highland View stream to your program list. That will make it easier to find Highland View's program on future visits to the site.
- During a live broadcast, and if you are logged in rather than an anonymous guest, you will be able to chat with others who are viewing live from their accounts by going into the chat area to the right of the video box. To do this, note the picture and instructions on the photo below.
